The First Time I Met Lowell

I moved to Nicholson Road in Fall of 2003. Who knew I would quickly identify with all of my neighbors living the Country life here in Oak Creek. There were farmers, retirees, electricians, political enthusiasts, plane builders, chicken and egg entrepreneurs and nature lovers - OH MY. My house was the feeding ground for dozens of deer who enjoyed apples and pears all year long. What I didn't realize was that I had a dear sweet gentleman who was very excited to trade some grapes for wine. Lowell introduced himself with a jug of homemade strawberry wine. He offered a trade, I accepted. I remember him telling me "be careful, it's potent". After a second coffee mug of the nectar I understood. Over the years I looked forward to our talks on the porch and our Sunday dinners. Like it or not, Nicholson is part of our family. I will miss Lowell dearly and I am very saddened by the pain the family has endured over the recent years. Rest in internal peace Lowell.
